Life Attestation Letter
The Consulate General of Nigeria in New York issues Life Attestation Letters to confirm that a Nigerian citizen is alive and residing within the Consulate’s jurisdiction.
Kindly note that all applicants for a Life Attestation Letter must appear in person at the Consulate with appropriate supporting documents. Please review the listed guidelines below to ensure that all required supporting documents are available for submission:
- Applicant should appear in person or provide medical certificate stating he or she is alive and in good health
- Letter of First Appointment or Gazette or Record of Service
- Letter of Retirement
- Letter of Last Promotion
- Staff ID or Pension ID
- Photocopy of Data Page of Most recent Nigerian Passport
- Two recently taken color, Passport Size Photographs
- Original and Photocopies of all relevant Documents
The Consulate General of Nigeria, New York does not charge a fee for this service.
